Re: North Central WA April Gathering?
I've made reservations (kind of) for those RHS alumni living in
North Central Washington who are interested in a 12 noon to 2-ish
lunch - reunion in Chelan, at the Campbell House on Thursday,
April 12th. It's early enough to put it on your calendar and be
thinking about it. The "reservation lady" said we can each pay for
our own lunches, and there will be an 18% gratuity automatically
added to the bill for each of us... (gulp). If any are interested,
and THINK they could make it, I'd appreciate an RSVP to my email
address, as I told the lady there would probably be 10 - 12,
based on previous gatherings in Wenatchee.
Chelan is a beautiful place, I think, and the Campbell House is a
historical place by the lake. And of course, anyone - regardless
of where they live - is welcome (errr, are you seeing this...
sister, Kate and Tom in Richland?).
Hope it can happen. Life's getting shorter...

Re: Snow Pictures And Sledding Down Carmichael Hill
Brought back so many memories of sledding down Carmichael. We used
to get a group together, then sled, till we were frozen, then walk
to a friend’s house for hot cocoa and "thaw out". *grin*
Loved the pictures from the Tri-City Herald. I miss the snow, but
am glad I don’t have to drive in it, or shovel it, but would love
to be able to "play in it", again. My cousin sent me a picture of
her place in Pasco... entire yard was covered in snow and she and
her granddaughter made a snow fort and had a snowball fight...
made me wish I was there. *grin*
-Linda REINING ('64) ~ cold weather has returned to Bakersfield,
CA and they are saying we might get rain over the weekend.
sure hope so, cause we need it. We need snow in the
mountains, too. Way down this year for both snow and rain.

Re: Snow
Here in the Lacey, WA area we got about 12" of the white stuff
Wednesday night and some freezing rain on top of it Thursday. The
apartment complex is full of broken off tree branches and in some
instances entire trees. So far one carport has collapsed and the
one I'm under could go if the tree leaning down on it decides to
come down totally. The tree always has leaned towards it anyway
without touching it but not only is quite a lot of it touching
it but the tree beside has dropped a couple of branches on it.
Thursday morning just after stepping out of the shower the power
went off and was off for almost 12 hours. Today it's bumped
several times but not stayed off. Right now they are calling for
rain and possible high winds into tonight, oh joy. I did get to
the grocery store yesterday by bus as I live right on a major
route and the stop is right outside my complex and stops right
across the street from the store with a stop on the store's side
for coming back. Here's to a good weekend and a safe one for those
of you dealing with weather issues.
