Re: Jeanette DUNCAN Mefford ('54) update

Classmates and other friends:

Jim MEFFORD ('54) said it was okay for me to let all of you know
about Jeanette's condition!!

Jeanette fell on Friday, October 10th and broke her left hip. She
had surgery on October 11th and is now at Lourdes Hospital in
Pasco on second floor in rehab. I was just up visiting her today
(Tuesday) and it looks like she is scheduled to go home on Friday,
the 17th.

Please cheer her up with cards and well wishes for a speedy
recovery. There is still a ways to go before she is free of pain
and able to get around very good. In case you don't have their
home address email me and I'll give it to you..

Jeanette, we are all thinking of you and praying for a recovery
that will get you out and about again!!!

Did you happen to know that today was the day Dan and Marg got
married? Should sorta be a national holiday or something worth
shouting about. At any rate, have a good time today kids, and even
have many more.

Ms. BISHOP ('56), physical appearance is not a qualification for
status as a "Bomber Babe." Just remember that all Bomber Babes
are ladies; but not all ladies are Bomber Babes. I am relieved,
however, that you are not interested in taking care of another
young(er) person. You see, expressing sympathy for Tooter is
getting into his wheelhouse (as they say), and he would be lapping
it up as fast as he could.

Yes, Paul Revere (RIP) will be missed. He and the Raiders were a
fun group. Not too sure if he surpasses Gary Puckett of Union Gap
fame, but he's right up there.

-Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) ~ Mount Angel, OR where the
weather guessers got it right and we are in for rain off
and on for the rest of the week. Some may even filter over
the mountain passes and through the Gorge to the dry side.

They say that if you remember the '60s, you weren't really there.
Well, I was, and there's something that has just been puzzling me.
Help me!

I was visiting with a younger friend and talking about league
conferences, and who made up which ones. I was at Col-Hi between
'66 and '69 and always remember us being in the "Big Nine"
Conference. Yes, this was of course before Kamiakin joined in '72.
But for the life of me, I can only count eight (8) schools. I even
went to Wikipidia, looking up our school, and the article bragged
on Art Dawald and his career which ended in 1970 in the "Big
Nine". Who is the ninth??

Walla Walla, Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, Ike, Davis, Moses Lake,
Wenatchee - there's 8! I'm gettin' old, but I think my mind is
deceiving me. What's wrong?

    [Toppenish, Wapato, Sunnyside, Ellensburg? -Maren]
