Re: response to MR. ALLEN ('66) preventive animal diseases

Now if they could come up with one that at least slows the spread
of stupid. HUMANS are so susceptible...

Gadfrey! Blew another one. All this excitement about "Tooter"
getting tangled up with AOL has gotten me lost in time or some
other place. Yesterday was the birthday of a Bomber Babe whom I
happen to know through Club 40 and I missed it. My bad, as some
would say. A belated tip of the ol' propeller beanie is in order
for Anna May WANN ('49). We know her better as Ann Thompson, but
then people change names all the time. Hope you had a good day and
didn't get too wet.

-Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) ~ Mount Angel, OR where
weather guessers are having a field day in trying to outguess
one another on the amount of rain that will fall.

Re: HORSE SENSE

Is it just me???

Every time in the last few weeks when some government official gets
up and says "There is no cause for concern." etc., etc., etc. I am
always reminded of that movie "Airplane" when Leslie Nielsen starts
talking to the passengers telling them "There is no reason to
panic," etc., etc., etc., and while he is talking his nose keeps
getting longer and longer. (I looked up that clip up on YouTube to
be sure the quote was correct)

It has been some time since I last saw "Airplane" but it is a
remake of the 1957 movie "Zero Hour!" which I did watch within the
last year. "Zero Hour!" is a more serious move while "Airplane" is
a slapstick comedy, but it was surprising how many scenes were
reused in "Airplane," and I am pretty sure the Doctor reassuring
(lying to) the passengers is one of them.

. . . just wondering if anyone else had the same thought.

Re: Blaine HOPKINS ('69-RIP)
  http://alumnisandstorm.com/Obits/pics14/RIP69HopkinsBlaine14.htm

Written by Chris MARSHALL Hopkins ('69) for the Sandstorm:

It is with deep sadness that I wanted to let all of you
know that my husband and best friend, Blaine, passed
away Monday morning, October 27 at 10:30am.

Blaine experienced a massive brain cell bleed last
Saturday and lost consciousness. He never experienced
any pain and he went home surrounded by the physical
and/or "wish-we-were-there" love of family and friends.

Blaine will be laid to rest at a grave side service on
      Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Einans's Highway 240 and
the ByPass Highway, Richland at 1pm and the grave site
(lot 178A in the Peace Garden) is located across from
the pond on the corner. Look for the lonely swan!

Any questions... please contact Jackie MARSHALL ('75)
If you wish to send condolences, contact Jackie and she
will give you Chris' address/phone number.

Please forward this information on to anyone who might
      want to know about Blaine.

Re: Horse Sense

I'm a little confused about yesterday's entry, so I thought I might
reply to Horse Sense: Did you know that...

Horses defecate whenever, wherever they feel like it and then
walk through their own mess? Did you also know they also urinate
whenever, wherever they feel like as well? Did you know that there
are no labor laws concerning how much, or how hard you work a
horse? Did you know in order to make a horse run faster or obey an
order, that you can strike a horse with a stick or rod? Did you
know that if a horse is injured while performing slave labor that
you can just shoot it? Did you know that in many parts of the world
people consume horse meat? Aren't you glad that we treat humans
better than we treat horses?
