Re: New Lewis & Clark

Watching construction of the new Lewis and Clark School this past
year, has been very interesting. Last week (2 weeks ago?) the curbs
were poured and last week the blacktop was put down on the parking
lot which is now on Jadwin. Entrance to the old school was on
Cullum. I'm sorry I missed the "open house" some months ago--would
have liked to see the interior. A TV report is better than nothing,
but the real tour would have been great, I'm sure. Does anyone know
what they'll do with the old building? Maybe offices?

Re: Iditarod

Thank you, Maren, for the wonderful coverage of the Iditarod. I
haven't kept up with it except here on the Sandstorm and appreciate
the info and, especially, the photos. I don't know how those people
and dogs do it!!! Saw 2 of my Great-Grands (on Facebook) watching
the "pretend" [ceremonial] start in Anchorage with no snow. Weird
weather... but it's not the first time and likely won't be the last.

Re: Patti's ALL Bomber Lunch

There were just 8 of us at last Saturday's All-Bomber Luncheon.
Good visits, though. That Lunch is the only time I usually see so
many of "Us" and I had missed it for several months. Nice to see
people looking happy and healthy.

March 4, 2015 email from Dennis BARR ('58) aka MountnMan123

"William is out of the hospital and back at the nursing
home. He is still weak, but hopefully he will get
stronger. He started some chair exercise yesterday,
      so this is a start.

      Address: 7000 NW 32nd, Room 221, Bethany, OK 73008."

Okay, I don't think I ever met Jeanie CRIGLER ('62), but her
birthday was yesterday [3/22] and nobody wished her a happy
birthday. I looked up her picture in the Columbian and she is
certainly pretty enough to deserve one, so Jeanie, I hope you
had a happy birthday, from a fellow Class of '62 member.

-David DOUGLAS ('62) ~ Mesa, AZ The pool is finally warm enough
to swim in again. It has sure helped my blood sugar considerably

pulling Lance since Scott's sled had no musher.

Re: Bombers and their lives

Mine hasn't been anything exceptional, but I will add my two cents
worth. Graduated in '64... went to work at "Stop 'n Go" (Kennewick
Highlands... later changed name to, "Max' Broiler)... loved working
as a waitress...'66 got married to a "Coastie" (Dale Gray ('58wb),
moved to Seattle... went to work for Kelly Girl Services (temp
agency)... '67, first daughter born... 3 months later, Dale went
to Viet Nam... I moved to Wishram, WA to be close to my mom and
stepdad... he worked for Burlington-Northern RR... I got a job in
the RR "beanery" (diner) as a waitress (told you I LOVED being a
waitress *grin*)... '68, Dale came home from 'Nam and we moved to
Vashon Island, WA where he was stationed at Point Robinson Point
(lighthouse station)... '70, he was temporarily stationed at the
Coast Guard Station in Kennewick... second daughter born in '71...
3 months later, we were transferred to Astoria, Oregon... '73 we
were transferred to Long Beach, CA. In '74, after 8 years, marriage
ended, went to work for UPS... remarried in '76 (he worked for
ARCO); got tired of working for UPS, went to work in elementary
school as librarian... '85 husband got transferred to Bakersfield,
CA... in '96, after 20 years, that marriage ended. by then, I had
grandkids and was content to babysit them. BEST job I ever had. In
'09, was diagnosed with cancer and oldest grandson was killed in an
automobile accident (between cancer and his death, it just about
"did" me in)... because of health problems, I moved in with oldest
daughter and her family... in 2014, son-in-law got a job in Idaho,
so we moved to Kuna (Boise area)... outside of living in Richland,
this is the BEST place I ever lived... love the weather (4 Seasons)
slower pace of life... we live in the country... no "hustle and
bustle" of the city. My life might not have been as exciting or
outstanding or monumental as others, but I have had a GREAT life
and my experiences have forged who I am, and I like who I am, so
wouldn't change a thing. *grin* I'm content to be "grandma to 9"
(rest in the arms of the angels, Anthony) grandkids... they have
made my life worth living and given me a reason to get up, each and
every day.

-Linda REINING ('64) ~ Kuna, ID temps are in the 40's... I'm
loving this weather
