Re: Belated Happy Birthday, Jim McKEOWN ('53)
If any Bomber birthday should never be forgotten, it's Jim
McKEOWN's. Jim has bled green and gold for 80 years…yet he has
more than enough of that colorful fluid on tap to last until
the good Lord calls him home. You will find Jim at every Club
40 function available. He drives to the Tri-Cities from
Sacramento, CA with his beautiful wife, my WSU sorority sister
Edna McKeown (NAB, but my class recognized her as an Honorary
Bomber at our 50-year Reunion).
Public speaker extraordinaire, Jim entertained for a half-hour
at Charlie GANT's ('53-RIP) funeral – and emceed our 60-year
Reunion, held always in conjunction with Club 40. I thank him
from the bottom of my heart for being a true friend. Edna
treated him at his favorite Italian restaurant on May 8.

I agree with those suggesting a fund to compensate Maren for
the new hard drive (and if that doesn't work - maybe a new
laptop). I'm in for either - - - Maren, can we assist?

Mary Jane BRADY Wagner ('63-RIP)
Sad news…My sister, Mary Jane BRADY Wagner ('63-RIP) passed
away last night [5/7/15]. About 3 weeks ago she was walking
a large dog. The dog jerked quickly and she twisted her legs
while trying to control him. As a result, she fractured both
legs. They were casted and she was not able to move much.
Apparently blood accumulated in her leg due to inactivity
and a clot broke off and went into her heart. Mary Jane was
the kindest person I ever knew. She had many friends. We will
miss her. Life is fragile.

Driving home from subbing a week in kindergarten I don't know
why I thought of what sayings I heard as a child and wondered
if we all did like "eat, there are starving people in China"
or "if you stick your tongue out, a crow will poop on it" or
my uncle said (not to me!) "You sound like a man with a paper
butt" and..."You're as worthless as tits on a boar" (maybe
to me!!). There were more but can't remember all because I'm
relaxing with wine and need to muster up courage to go back
into the classroom for 3 more days.
And Maren, You just need to increase our donation. I know all
who read daily or whatever and whenever will gladly help out.

We just mailed a check today to Maren to cover our Sandstorm
dues and to help with her computer upgrade. Hope other Bombers
will do the same! Thanks again, Maren, for all you do for us.
We're also sending thoughts and prayers for your upcoming eye
surgery.
