I'm not saying that the cleaning crews should be standing by, but it might be helpful. Oh, yes, on Friday next the Girls of '54 are meeting for lunch at Rosy's; attendance may be taken. -Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) ~ Mount Angel, OR where the nice weekend weather is over. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** >>From: David DOUGLAS ('62) This is a long shot, I know, but I'm going to ask anyway. I'm looking for the name of a Revolutionary War poem printed in two of our English anthologies ? either sophomore and junior years or junior and senior ? I can't remember which two years. The poem satirized the English army, especially the generals. The line I remember in the first book said the general was "in his tent a-snoring." The same line in the second book said the general was "in his tent ........." I couldn't think of anything objectionable about the word 'snoring' that would need censoring. I went to the public library and rummaged through the poetry books until I found the same poem, unedited. You already know what the censored word was, but I was rather naïve back then. (If you don't know ? I find that hard to believe, Bombers are so intelligent ? e-mail me and I'll tell you.) Anyway, I want to mention the poem in a novel and of course I don't remember the title. Is there anyone out there who either knows or can locate the poem with that line? -David DOUGLAS ('62) ~ Mesa, AZ *************************************************************** *************************************************************** >>From: Shirley COLLINGS Haskins ('66) Re: '66 Ladies Lunch WHEN: Friday, May 15, 2015 TIME: 12:30 WHERE: Twigs at Columbia Center If you are a lady from the class of '66 please join your other classmates.
