Re: dining in Tri-Cities

I'm looking for some input from you local (Tri-City) Bombers.

Mid-June, the Grand Lodge of Washington (Masons) will be
holding its annual communication at the Three River Convention
Center in Kennewick. 20 or so of our delegates and spouses
from my Lodge in Seattle always have dinner as a group
Saturday evening at these conventions, needing to eat
sometime after 5pm and finishing dinner in time to get
back to the convention site by 8pm for the installation
of next year's officers.

I'm looking for a recommendation for a good restaurant that
will hold a party of 20-25 for dinner (steak/fish/veggie type
menu) in the Tri-Cities, preferably in Kennewick.

Cheers,
-Jim RUSSELL ('58) ~ Mountlake Terrace, WA

Re: Looking for a book

I am looking for the book:

"Mara, Daughter of the Nile" by Eloise Jarvis McGraw C 1953.

It is for a Bomber friend who will turn 70 this summer. It was
her favorite book when we went to Marcus Whitman and it would
be a real treat if I could find a copy.

Re: Time ta raise a little Hell

Awwwwwwwwwright you Bad Kats and Kitties out there, it's the
Tooter cummin' acha from high in the sky blastin' twenty-five
trillion watts a power with pounds a sounds n stacks a wax...
now maybe it's just cuz I been listenin' to Johnny, Waylon,
Willie, Kris, Hank III, and David Allen all day, but the
Tooter's inna mood to start sumthin'... now I know there's a
bomber-babe havin' a birthday and I promise I won't ferget, but
I need ta call on alla you Bombers out there to mosey on over
by the Bomber-bowl (Sorry Fran but it'll always be Col-Hi and
the Bomber Bowl) and check out the Lone Tree on the south
side... Now I know in my heart of hearts that nearly every one
of you who has made the drive from Monterey to Santa Barbara
or visa versa on the PCH has taken a picture of the "lone
Cypress"... I mean I got at least 10 myself and sure they
pretty much all look alike, me bein' such a fine photographer
and all... kinda like how I used to stop at Cholame at the
intersection of Hwys 41 and 46 till the nasties totally
destroyed the James Dean Memorial... it's just something ya
do... now that tree on the PCH ain't doin' nobody no harm and
it would never occur me nor anybody else to cut it down... at
least I hope not... well the same goes for the Lone Tree at the
south end of the bomber Bowl... but it has recently come to my
attention that the Federal Gubmint under the auspices of The
Bonneville Power Administration has taken it upon itself to
determine that the Lone Tree is interfering with power lines
on the South Side of the Bomber Bowl... now I have it on
the authority of the professional eye of a Prominent Bomber
Architect ('65), that the Lone Tree is nowhere near interfering
with those power lines and would not be for a good number of
years, if ever. Now of course there are ways to prune trees and
if Richland ever catches up to the rest of the world, there
will be no above ground power lines before the tree gets a
whole lot bigger... but in flexing its muscles, the Gubmint has
ordered the Richland School District to remove the beautiful,
landmark Lone Tree... now if you are wondering how the tree
could be a landmark I am willing to testify that it was under
the Lone Tree where I first kissed every single girl I ever
dated in Richland... now all kidding aside... I assume the
Gubmint has a limited easement for its power lines but if the
tree ain't doin' no harm it's time for you Bombers to rise up
and tell the Gubmint "hell no it won't go!" As Kris would say,
we need to beat the devil! Film at 11:00 (I expect to get it
tomorrow).

Of course, I also need to wish an HB to one of my favorite
bomber-babes... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Marilyn SWAN ('63) on your
special day, May 14, 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
