Here we are at Armed Forces Day. If you know someone who has
or is serving in the Armed Forces: Give him or her a hug and
a hearty thank you. This may or may not include the Junior
Gyrene (AKA Tooter); it would depend if he has come out of
his Wolfman mode. If he has, it would be alright to shake his
hand and say "Thanks"; if not, run for the nearest exit.

I certainly hope the hard-drive issue has been settled as
there have been no disruptions in service. The eyeball thing
is a different matter entirely.

['Puter still pending... once I get started with the
installation of the new solid state hard drive, we'll
see if there's an interruption. -Maren]

weather guessers are claiming our low-pressure systems
are creating havoc in the mid-west.

I am a big fan of two used book sellers,
          http://www.alibris.com/
 and http://www.abebooks.com/ to find books.

Check out either of these and expect to find what you're
looking for at a good price.

Still reading after all these years,

Re David, David, David - you know better!

Driving from Monterey to Santa Barbara (or vice versa), one (or
you) would not pass the Lone Cypress or take a picture of it -
unless you meant "the Monterey Peninsula" and started or ended
at Pebble Beach and paid the entry fee for the 17-Mile Drive
(do your remember the breath-taking hole on - I think - the
Pebble Beach golf course where the golfers shot over the 17-
Mile Drive onto a green nearly surrounded by Pacific Ocean
water?). My year at the Defense Language Institute/Foreign
Language Center on the Presidio of Monterey (1965-66) included
many such drives and picture-taking, even after the toll
booths were set up but a lowly A3C/A2C (a few years after I was
separated, the Air Force eliminated those ranks because "there
are no second-class or third-class Airmen") couldn't afford the
toll, so my motorcycle found a short dirt path into the elite
residential district above the Presidio that was directly
connected to said 17-Mile Drive.

Regards, ecb3 - from strolling down a beautiful memory lane
while enjoying perfect spring weather in Central Virginia.

Re: book: "Mara, Daughter of the Nile"

Hi, Louise and everyone;

Amazon has a 1985 imprint of Eloise Jarvis McGraw's "Mara,
Daughter of the Nile." It's not the 1953 imprint, but it's
available for $6.99. Try following this link.

Hope this works for you.

Warmest regards
-Joe FORD ('63)

Re: nuther wonnerful Bomber-babe

Well, so far "The Tree" is still standing... Mr. Tech sent me
a DAT file of the tree but I couldn't open it with my limited
knowledge of computers...when I have a minute I will figure it
out...Shirley Haskins( '66) came to my rescue, however and sent
me several pix...thanks kiddo....

Thinking of the Bomber Bowl did remind me of how those Roster
Pill commercials are getting more and more... uhhhh what's the
word... provocative? Now, they show a couple at a football game
and say you shouldn't have to stop what you are doing and find
a rest room when that "feeling" hits you... so next time you
feel some bumping going on next to you in the stands... give
em room! Anyway, if you wanna let the Gubmint know you don't
want the tree removed call:
Craig Fusoral at the BPA at 509 571-7994!

So now HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sandy JONES ('65) on your special day,
May 16, 2015!!!!!!!
