A ceremony will take place at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane on September 18th. On September 19th, at a home football game, Rex will be introduced along with others at half time. Rex coached gymnastics at WSU from 1966-'68 and tennis from 1967-'94 at Washington State University. His athlete students had the highest graduation rate in school history. Center court at the WSU outdoor tennis center is named in his honor. Rex is a graduate of WSU, where he lettered in gymnastics. While Rex was stationed in Korea during the end of the war, he learned to play and teach tennis. That was the beginning of his 39 years of coaching at Richland High School and WSU. While at WSU, Rex coached both women and men's tennis for a time, finishing his career coaching only the men's teams until he retired in 1994. He is one of only 5 Cougar coaches to attend and graduate from WSU, win an athletic award, return to WSU as a coach and retire as a coach from the WSU athletic department. During his retirement years, Rex volunteered his time to help with the Pullman High School tennis teams and plays tennis often. CONGRATULATIONS, REX DAVIS!! -Richard ROBERTS ('49) *************************************************************** *************************************************************** >>From: Carol CARSON Renaud ('60) Re: Puget Sound Luncheon http://alumnisandstorm.com/Lunches/Current-Puget/00.htm The eight of us had a great time visiting at the Puget Sound Luncheon on Saturday, May 30. We covered lots of subjects including David DOUGLAS' ('62) old girlfrends, some of the teachers we had in common and lamented the fact that things aren't the same for the new generations. However, we all have very fond memories and look forward to meeting again in September. -Carol CARSON Renaud ('60) and ~ Steve CARSON ('58) ~ Lynnwood, WA *************************************************************** *************************************************************** >>From: David RIVERS ('65) Re: wow time flies Where did yesterday go?
