Now this may seem to be rubbing it in the face of those who live
in the Tri-Cities; but, hey, I'm talkin' the "wet side" of the
Northwest. It is true, boys and girls, the temps did not hit the
century mark as some predicted (cloud cover stayed longer than
they thought). Eugene made it to 98°, had a 100° on the car
going through Curtin, OR on the way back from the coast. But
this is the "wet side". Only problem was the humidity, made it
almost feel like New Orleans or some other spot on the Gulf
Coast. Definitely not the dry heat of the desert Southwest or
even the high desert on the East side.

On the other hand some weather guessers are calling for 100°+
over the 4th of July week-end. As a result, there may not be
any fireworks displays this year (bummer!).

Just about a month ago Dick "Buz" BOISONEAU ('61) called to say
that he had leukemia. What a shock to both of us. June 3rd they
admitted to Kadlec for treatment. They gave him chemo for just
over two weeks. He told me he can't have any more because his
body is too weak to accept it. He stayed at Kadlec another week
to get his strength up... then released him for hospice at home.
Saturday night they took him to hospice off Yelm Street in
Kennewick. I went to see him today [6/28]... he was feeling
better.. glad to see me. He needs your prayers and people in his
corner..

Well, I guess you were right to be worried about the 2 jail
escapees being in your area, as both were found and killed in
upper New York State.

Seems a lot of Bombers had good memories of hard work, but fun
times working in the "peas".

-Helen CROSS Kirk ('62) ~ Hope, IN where we are fortunate
we are not flooded as much of the state is with our
continuing heavy rain, but the cooler temperatures
        are wonderful!!
