Music please: "I left my hearrrrtt in..." No, I didn't leave my
heart any place. But I did leave my laptop charger in Paris.
Dang! $59.71 to replace it. (As if I hadn't already spent a
bunch on vacation!)

It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime vacation for me. So grateful
for daughter, Janet Rawlings Taylor for doing all the travel
plans and for granddaughter Jordan Rawlings for taking care of
most of the navigating while in London and Paris. Janet was
awesome in the way she took care of me: looking back to be sure
I was following when I got a bit behind, holding my arm going up
and down millions of steps, checking to be sure I was ok getting
off the escalators, etc. We walked for hours every day. (I'd
love to know how many miles we covered! Too bad I didn't think
to buy a pedometer, although I don't know how accurate they
are.) It was a great 10 days, but I don't think I'd be
interested in doing it again. Although I admit to wanting
to see the Galapogos Archipelago.

I got home to my own little home at about 1:00 or so Tuesday
night/Wednesday morning after flying from London to Dallas to
Seattle to Pasco.

-Marilyn "Em" DeVINE ('52) ~ happy at home but happy to have
       gotten to go!

Re: In Jolly Ole England

finally made it across the "pond" on A great flight with Air
Canada yesterday, to be "collected" at Heathrow by my dear
friend, Jan (we've been friends since we met as exchange
students in '62 to Holland). She married and Englishman and
has quite adapted to being English!!

Today I'm visiting her in her quite English "semi-detached"
house. Tomorrow I tackle the tubes and trains and buses... more
later

-Helen CROSS Kirk ('62) ~ from Goring, England where it's dry
and I'm quite comfortable in a short-sleeved shirt.
