He is on new medicine for his pulmonary fibrosis. The other was sooo powerful it burned him badly. So let's keep our fingers crossed that this medicine will be a help. Wish it had been around when Mac RICHARDSON ('52-RIP) was sick with this. -JoAnn Lyall (wife of 59 years) *************************************************************** *************************************************************** [OK, this was SUPPOSED to be in the 8/1/15 Sandstorm and I goofed... Hope David will forgive me. -Maren] >>From: David RIVERS ('65) Re: SEVENTEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK we got some really fun birthdays today... I mean I'd love to be the bomber-dude between these two lovelies... they almost invented the words Bomber-Babe (if there's a hi fun is it one word?)... but wait... there's more... how many of you recall that seventeen years ago our Bomber-Babe editor in chief began the Sandstorm... seventeen years... I mean asa kid it takes 50 years to reach 16 and we are on 17... Way ta go, Maren ('63 & '64)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the day after ba ba ba ba ba ba bompada ba ba dinky dank dink blue moon blue moon blue moon dit di dit di dit........ I remember one time eating at Andy Devine's and the Marcels came in for dinner... dunno where they'd been playing but it ain't like Kingman is the entertainment capital of the world ya know... now if either of these Bomber-Babes (Sorry buddy... I love ya and all but you take back seat to these babes... wait... I wanna take back seat WITH these babes... so get outa the back seat and go wait on the Group W bench)... dang... I would not wanna be standing before these two at the same time with them expecting me to ask one of them to go see Cleopatra or somethin'... no way I could make that choice... I mean it ain't like they wuz droolin' over me when I was a lowly soph... but as the Big El said: "While I can think, while I can talk, while I can stand, while I can walk, While I can dream, please let my dream come true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and let one of these Babes want me to take them to Cleopatra and one to West Side Story!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Ann ENGEL ('63), MaryAnn WEILAND ('63) and Dennis HASKINS ('66) on your special day, August 1, 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -David RIVERS ('65) PS if ya don't like the movies I'm open to suggestion... Hud, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Days of Wine and Roses... the list is endless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean just because it's my dream doesn't mean you can't choose the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *************************************************************** *************************************************************** [This is the entry David sent for this Sandstorm. -Maren} >>From: David RIVERS ('65) Re: Move over Clapton First only happens once just like last... Waaaaaaaaaay back when I was still doing labor law I worked with a guy who had represented GM in some big time work... they gave him the last Pontiac convertible to roll off the line back in the late '60s or early '70s (contrary to popular belief I don't know nuthin' bout "classic" cars... I'm a died inna wool hot rodder)... He loved that car... now the B-day Bomber is onna them firsts... (looks better "wanna" but that's not the right word... Just like I've called Tony HARRAH ('65) "Tons" since I met him... now it looks like "tuns" but pronounced "Tones" with a long "o"... but the "e" looks funny)... I've heard but not confirmed that the BEAULIEU twins ('62) may have been the last babies borned at Hanford Hospital... but this guy is the undisputed first baby borned in a Cadillac... hardy har har har (how many of us told that stupid joke as kids?)... now he's way more than that... he is a fantastic friend and my life would not be nearly as full without him in it... Oh I know... you think I got jelly for a spine but lemme tell ya... this summer I heard Bill BLANKINGSHIP ('62) admit that with the passing of every year he gets more and more sentimental... now top that... so I hope my pal will just take a day off on his day and relax... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Ed QUIGLEY ('62) on your special day, August 2, 2015!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -David Rivers ('65) PS I did NOT miss yesterday's b-days... they went to SPAM... I posted on face book tho! *************************************************************** *************************************************************** That's it for today.
