Just a note to remind all the procrastinators out there that
the deadline is fast approaching for registering for the Club40
Annual Meeting and Whoop-de-doo. This deadline is necessary for
two reasons: (1) This will give the hotel an accurate count of
how many to expect for dinner each night; and (2) The
treasurer's abacus doesn't work all that fast.

Having just checked the list posted on Club 40's web page, I
have noticed that several of the usual suspects are not listed;
particularly members of the Class of '55. So, as Dean Martin
was wont to say at the end of his TV program; "Keep those cards
and letters comin' in folk."

(eventually). One day they may get it right.

Re: Bowling Alley

I went to work at the bowling alley setting pins when I was 13.
Leo Rollic (sp) was the manager. Several of my friends worked
there (Thurman BOWLS ('56), David ('55) and Ross ('53-RIP) GORDON.
When I asked Leo for a job he said he didn't have one for me.
I went back down the next day and asked again. He said he told
me yesterday that he didn't have a job for me. I said "That was
yesterday, do you have a job today?". After three or four days
of this, he finally gave me a job. It was hard work but I was
making my own money and it felt great.
