This deadline is necessary for two reasons: (1) This will give the hotel an accurate count of how many to expect for dinner each night; and (2) The treasurer's abacus doesn't work all that fast. Having just checked the list posted on Club 40's web page, I have noticed that several of the usual suspects are not listed; particularly members of the Class of '55. So, as Dean Martin was wont to say at the end of his TV program; "Keep those cards and letters comin' in folk." -Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) ~ Mount Angel, OR where weather guesser hold forth with the promise of rain (eventually). One day they may get it right. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** >>From: Tony DURAN ('55) Re: V-J Day - August 14, 1945 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ85j6U2Fvs -Tony DURAN ('55) *************************************************************** *************************************************************** >>From: Tom HUGHES ('56), Re: Bowling Alley I went to work at the bowling alley setting pins when I was 13. Leo Rollic (sp) was the manager. Several of my friends worked there (Thurman BOWLS ('56), David ('55) and Ross ('53-RIP) GORDON. When I asked Leo for a job he said he didn't have one for me. I went back down the next day and asked again. He said he told me yesterday that he didn't have a job for me. I said "That was yesterday, do you have a job today?". After three or four days of this, he finally gave me a job. It was hard work but I was making my own money and it felt great. -Arthur "Tom" HUGHES ('56), *************************************************************** *************************************************************** >>From: Steve CARSON (Championship Class of '58) To: Carol CARSON ('60) Carol, was the Orange tip an analogy? -Steve CARSON (Championship Class of '58) *************************************************************** *************************************************************** Memorial INFO only today Re: Bill Yale ('48-RIP) From the Einan's website: Memorial Service: tomorrow, Saturday, August 15, 2015, 2pm Crossview Community Church in Kennewick *************************************************************** *************************************************************** That's it for today.
