Re: Old Party Picture
http://AlumniSandstorm.com/Xtra/Wat/160911-party.jpg

Recently, when one of my daughters was cleaning out some of
my mother's papers, she ran across this picture. This was a
party held in the basement of my home at 1607 Johnston...
which had been made into a rec room by my dad, who paneled it
with knotty pine and tiled it with two colors of linoleum
squares. The theme was "Come as What You Want to Be When You
Grow Up". I will list the names and hoped for careers to the
best of my memory... (I know... scary and perhaps not
accurate!)

Back Row: Kent PETERSON (RIP '63) as Elvis, Paul ANDERSON
('63) as an artist I think, Bob MATHIS ('63) as a race car
driver, Phil ARMSTRONG ('63) as a doctor, Bob WYRICK (RIP '62)
as an Indian, Peter BAUGHER ('63) as a doctor, Jan BELL ('64)
as a race car driver, David SIMPSON ('63) hidden so ??,
Sherry COX ('63) as a teacher

Front Row: Cecile PHILIPS ('63) as a reluctant doctor, Ellen
WEIHERMILLER ('63) as a cool cat, Kathy COLLIER ('63) as a
flapper, Kathy RATHVON ('63) as a dancer, Mary Lou WATKINS
(63) as a cowgirl, and Diane KORNBERG ('63) as an artist.

Some observations... Kent never made it to Elvis but as a
young man always had the hair, doctors were very popular
choices, my uncle Bob WYRICK was 1/8th Cherokee... so he kind
of achieved that, I rode horses almost all my life, thanks to
my folks always having them, Ellen WEIHERMILLER is definitely
still cool... as I can attest... just saw her last week!
Questions... where were Lamont and Carolyn??? and Rob and
Reed? and the others... they may have been questioning their
career choices... or thought we were all a bit dorky...
hmmmmm...

Love the memory,
-Mary Lou WATKINS Rhebeck ('63) ~ Laguna Hills, CA where
the trees are starting to turn and the nights are
        filled with ocean coolness

Re: cozy foursome

We had a nice cozy foursome for our Bomber lunch at JD Diner,
Glen ROSE ('58) and spouse Carol (NAB), Pat DORRIS Trimble
('65), and Betti Avant ('69). We had lots of good laughs and
shared memories of good ole Col-Hi.
