Hopefully Maren has gotten them!!! [When Nate (NAB), the Club40 webmaster, gets the pictures on the Club40 website, he'll send the link and I'll put the link to the pictures in the Sandstorm. -Maren] We had such a fun and busy weekend with all the Club 40 Alumni. Friday night visiting with friends; Saturday morning Board Meeting with new officers being elected. President, Ron HOLEMAN ('56) Vice President, Dona McCLEARY Belt ('54) Secretary, Karol BRIMHALL Smith ('56) Treasurer, Ann Thompson, aka Anna May WANN ('49) You will be hearing from them soon, I'm sure. After the meeting, our '54 classmates met in the restaurant at Red Lion for our 80th birthday party!! Missed some who thought would be there, but enjoyed the ones who did come and share our birthday cake along with hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, and drinks. http://richlandbombers.com/classes/1950s/1954/80th_cake.jpg Rested in the afternoon and back again for the "sit down dinner" and another raffle on Saturday night. Special item was raffled again, a hand carved wood stump with birds on top, donated by Dale Wile, Joanie PHILLIPS Wile's ('54} husband. Can't wait to see what he has in store for us next year!! THANK YOU ALL!!! Enjoyed being Club 40 President for two years and put a "term limit" on myself of the two years so we can get another alumni involved. Hopefully more will step up in the near future and take a role in keeping Club 40 thriving!!!! Re: Bomber tears!!! Last Thursday, September 8, 2016, we lost another of our busy Club 40 members, Janet FORBY Padgett ('60-RIP). We are all so sad and shocked that she was taken so soon after the diagnosis. Her family was with her in Seattle and her obituary is in the Herald yesterday, September 14, 2016. RIP, Janet and enjoyed working with you in the Raffle last year and many thanks for your donation of your winery's wonderful wine!! Our condolences to Jerry and your children. Re: Ladies of class of 1954 lunch get together As you are all hearing, Rosy's Ice Cream Diner is closed and we have had to find another gathering place for our Friday (third one of the month) lunch so we can get together and have some privacy to chit chat!! We have chosen Applebee's in Richland to try out for the month of September. If it works for us, we will continue going there. I have called from Dona McCLEARY Belt's list for her and hopefully the phone messages I left will be heard. Join us if you can!!!! 11:30am, September 16th!!!! -Marilynn WORKING Highstreet ('54) ~ Pasco where it is starting to cool and now will warm to the 80s for several days. ************************************************************* ************************************************************* >>From: Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) All these birthdays clumped together sometime make them hard to remember. I wouldn't say that about these two Bombers. Very memorable, as I remember. They graduated the same year I did, which makes them fellow classmates. That's really a stretch isn't it? So, double tip of the ol' propeller beanie and a "Happy Birthday!" shout are in store for Bill and Forest GOODENOW Terry ('54). Have a good one, guys. -Bob Carlson, aka Mike CLOWES ('54) ~ Mount Angel, OR where Oktoberfest has begun and people are now worrying about rain coming in late Saturday and possibly all day Sunday.
