Re: Deadliest Catch

My wife Jackie was notified today that we will be firing the
Crab Season Opener Fireworks Display for the TV Program "The
Deadliest Catch".

It will be several months before it is on the air but we shoot
it January 13, 2017, at Dutch Harbor, AK as the boats race out
to drop their crab pots to start the season.

I will already be up here just getting back to Anchorage from
NYE at Dutch Harbor. We fly back out on the 11th to start set-
up. There are several hundred items so it will be a an exciting
show?

I am a feature writer for Pyrotechnics Publications in both the
US and UK. Jack Drewes publisher of the American Fireworks News
and the Fireworks Business Newsletter intended for owners and
managers of all aspects of fireworks, from raw materials
suppliers to operators of fireworks stores and all in between.
Not sure how Jack found out about it but American Fireworks
News has already commissioned me this afternoon to write an
article about it.

This past year I had 3 published in the UK and 7 or 8 in the
US. They run 1200 to 1600 words. It is all part of the fun of
being in an unusual job.

Jackie and I were just discussing the different situations we
get involved in with pyrotechnics at lunch when her cell phone
buzzed and it was Lisa the producer from Deadliest Catch.

Jackie has been in pyrotechnics for over 35 years and I am over
60 years in it. We were planning a couple of trips this year
in semi retirement and the phone is ringing. Not complaining
as we both love the challenges of doing pyro in a wide variety
of situations. But we think we can get away a couple of times.
WinterBlast is coming in Feb. So if we make the "Blast" and get
away in May for 2-3 weeks and maybe something in the fall, it
will be good.

Re: Gen. James MATTIS ('68)

I am still waiting to hear Mattis is the new Sec Defense.

See this CNN article - Mattis selected but not yet confirmed

-J. Larry MATTINGLY ('60) ~ Anchorage House where it is cold
with mild winds that are icy. There is some snow on the
      ground in places.

Re: two cool Bombers

One of which is a babe are having b-days while I'll be playing
Davy Crockett... ain't never seed mucha Texas 'cept Lubbock to
celebrate the life and times of Buddy Holly... Terry DAVIS
('65) and I went to Dallas I think for a Viet-vet annual
meeting... but I'm interested in just seein' stuff so I'll be
away from my Computer for a while... that said I don't wanna
miss these two and I always ask way too much of my bestex/our
Bomber-babe editor so I'm doin' this before I leave... oh there
is one burning question... since our Halloween candy was prolly
doled out my dear ol' mom, does anyone else buy way more than
you need and become addicted to certain kinds? I need to start
buying even more of those huge bags of snickers and peanut
butter cups while they are still available... having big time
withdrawals... sooooooo HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Patti SNIDER ('65) and
Kent MADSEN ('65) on your special day, December 2, 2016!!!!!!!
